Good Grooming Habits in a Hectic World

Life nowadays is fast-paced; we all know this. Whether you’re a parent of three kids or single, we are pulled in so many more directions than we were even ten years ago. Between professional and private life demands, sometimes it feels like there aren’t enough hours, even minutes in the day. Just 30 minutes can make a difference, though, if we commit to it.

One thing that makes us feel our best is looking our very best. To look our best, we have to put that work in. Sure, some people are blessed with winning the genetic lottery and can actually quote Beyonce, “I woke up like this.” But, most of us can’t and have to make that effort to put in that work. With that in mind, it’s imperative to have a toolbox full of skills to get your good grooming habits in check and be able to look like a million bucks in a millisecond. Let’s look at ways to look and feel your best, no matter how hectic life gets.

Arm Yourself With Knowledge

The first thing you need to make all your hard work pay off is to arm yourself with knowledge. You need to know what type of skin you have, your issues, and how to treat them. By scheduling an appointment with a dermatologist or esthetician to consult on your skin’s health, you’re taking a step in the right direction. You may have been using retinol all this time when you needed a serum for sensitive skin – so you didn’t see results. By meeting with a professional and getting knowledge, you’re already halfway through the battle.

When it comes to your hair grooming, the same is true – meet with a stylist and see them regularly. Dental health is a massive part of grooming, too, so make sure you stick to your twice-a-year appointments for a health check and to resolve any issues that may be forming.

Power in Persistence

Your routines can get shaved down to mere minutes when it comes to your grooming, but consistency and persistence are critical. You can curate the perfect morning and nighttime routines, but if you don’t execute them daily, you’re not as likely to see results – and if you do, they’ll come slower.

The cleaner your base (meaning the baseline is healthy skin, hair, nails, and teeth), the easier it is to stay up on your grooming, and it does not take a long time. So, if you’re growing in your lashes on your eyebrows, make sure to put that growth serum on nightly, or it’s all for not. If you’re investing in your dental health through whitening treatments, you still have to floss your teeth each night. Be consistent in your practices, and you’ll get the results you want.

It’s All in the Fit

One massive part of grooming and looking your best is your wardrobe. Make sure you’re dressing in clothing that fits and flatters your figure. If you have a body type that you feel is hard to shop for, invest in a tailor who understands your body type and sartorial vision. If you don’t have a vision for how you’d like to dress, hire a stylist. It’s all in the fit – literally and figuratively.

Multitask To Make It Work

Multitasking is an excellent skill to nail down. Do your hair mask in the shower while you’re shaving your legs or exfoliating your body. Brush your teeth while you let your toner settle in your skin before you moisturize. When you invest in the right products, you don’t need as many as before. By using prescriptions from your dermatologist, you’ll eliminate the need for most OTC products. You can’t get the job done right without the best tools.

Once you’ve met with the right professionals and understand where you’re at and where you need to go, grooming takes little to no time. If you’re keeping up with regular appointments, things take less time at home. The key to looking your best is making a small financial investment to see serious gains in your appearance and confidence. And remember, there is only one you, and you are perfect just as you are – you just want to put your best foot forward!
